Advice for Fine Hair
You can have THICK but FINE hair all at the same time. When I say FINE, I mean the diameter of each hair strand is small, but you may still have a LOT of hair or “thick” hair.

Fine hair can lay limp with no body, so finding a style and cut that gives the illusion of fullness is always a goal for my clients.

I recommend a mid to short length hair cut that is pretty much all one length. Think A-Line bob at the shoulder. This cut gives the hair the illusion of being fuller and as having more body and it moves well.

If you like it short, you’re in luck - pixie cuts and whispy short edgy cuts are great and can be “pumped up” with product and styling.

If you MUST have longer hair, I understand.. but keep layers to a minimum. Layers can leave fine hair flying away and create a thinner look than you may want. A few layers at the bottom for some movement and maybe some around the face for shape and that’s it – keep the overall shape at one length.

I’m a L’Oreal and Pureology girl so, naturally, that’s what I’m going to recommend! For shampoo I would definitely use the L’Oreal Professional Serié Expert Volumetry Shampoo and Conditioner, it will add lasting body & density to fine, limp hair. Remember… shampoo at the scalp, condition at the ends.

To style for body on mid length to longer hair, you need to blowdry – with product. Recommend a few sprits of L’Oreal Professional Serié Expert Volumetry Root lift spray. Spray on to clean, towel-dried hair, focusing on the root area, one section at a time. If you want a little more lift, layer with Pureology Colour Stylist Root Lift Mouse. Apply to clean, damp hair using the direct-to-root applicator or dispense product in palm and distribute evenly from base to ends. Comb through.

Pre dry your hair first, hanging your head upside down and blow drying using your fingers will help add lift. Once your hair is about 80-85% dry switch to using a round brush, over directing the sections with high heat at the root to build volume in each section.

For long lasting fullness, consider a Brazilian Blowout ZERO treatment. The ZERO treatment takes about 60 min and puffs up the cuticle a bit to give the appearance of thicker fuller hair while leaving the hair more manageable and easier to style!

Hope this helps!
